The Canadian Federation of Poets is a growing organization, with a vibrant and
important contribution to the poetry landscape, and in the success of poetry
being recognized more prominently. In addition, we focus on how to get more
exposure for poets, their work, their events, and to help promote them
to the community. Doing this is a large job, and completely done on a volunteer basis.
As a result, your help and skills are greatly needed, and appreciated, and compensated
by things such as newsletter and magazine promotion for free.*
If you have some time, please take a look and consider the following
positions that are available. Federation Chairs:
These are poets willing to start a local group in their community. It is
as easy as selecting a location, a date, and posting a notice there, and
then letting me know so I can promote it. You'd be amazed at how many
people would like to get together and share their work with others locally.
It is a great way to bring poetry to the people, and out of the schools,
libraries and homes.

President & Founder - Tracy Lynn Repchuk
Tracy Lynn Repchuk is the president and founder, and has made it her personal mission
to ensure that poetry becomes a mainstream medium, and that poets are recognized, respected and honoured
for what they are - a stabalizing and cultural reflection of society. As a writer and poet,
we are responsible for creating the landscape for generations to come, so we must be heard in
order to accomplish this.
Thanks to these fine people, I am only responsible now for running the operation, web site, newsletter,
member management, emails, magazine distribution, finances, strategic planning, communication flows,
marketing and advertising, PR, quality assurance, and success stories.
National Coordinator for Canada - Cheryl Xavier
Cheryl was an immediate powerhouse for the CFP as she created the
Peel-Halton Federation of Poets, and attended numerous events on behalf of the
CFP. In addition to her amazing skills, she is also a publisher of poetry books,
and has assisted members in their book production cost effectively.
Feel free to contact Cheryl if you're interested in opening up a
Federation/Group in your area.
She can be reached at CherylX@federationofpoets.com
Publishing Coordinator - InnerSurf Publishing
InnerSurf Publishing is responsible for the coordination and printing of
CFP anthologies and publications for the organization and its members.
Education Director - Robert Hayes
Robert is a retired math and science teacher who works as a technical writer for a manufacturing
enterprise. He has published a text book on mathematics for carpenters, and written several
in-house learning modules on math and science. He loves writing - writes everyday. He hopes to
make a significant contribution to the CFP and wants to see a book of his Prairie Poetics published
along with riddles and short stories. He has three daughters, 5 grandchildren. His youngest
daugter is 8 years old.
Robert is responsible for ensuring that anyone who is registered
to achieve their Poet's Certificate from the lessons on the site, is
progressing. He is also required to check current postings for
accuracy, and send in a report of the name and week # that a poet has completed
to.

Betty Dobson is an award-winning, published writer and the owner of InkSpotter Publishing. Youth Division Director - Rebecca Cuevas De Caissie
This person is responsible for monitoring the activity on the Youth Forum, and
for ensuring youth know that membership to the CFP is free, and to promote this
where ever possible. Ages 15 and under are free. This is a very important
position, because it is the youth that will keep poetry prominent in their lives,
integrated into whatever they do, and support and promote this important
literary medium.
Forum Manager - Donna Thompson
This person is responsible for greeting new forum participants, and helping
to welcome and orient them through their journey. They also watch for
inappropriate postings, language and ill treatment of any person.

Relationship Manager - Jacquii Cooke
This person is responsible for seeking out appropriate places on the internet
to get the CFP listed. It can be done at your convenience, in
however much time you have. My goal would be at least one new
link per week for a total of 52 at the end of the year.
It is easy to do, just do a search on poetry sites, check them out,
and if they're appropriate, email and ask for a link if they have a
links section.
Membership Assistant - Donelda Kent
This involves contacting expired members and
reminding them it is time to renew. Usually no more than 10 calls
per month. Great for people that like the phone, and enjoy
talking to others. Needs to be someone with an unlimited phone plan.
Usually doesn't take more than 20 minutes time on the phone in total,
but I don't want anyone to incur extra expenses on our behalf.
Membership Liaison - Sylvia McGrath
This is a great position for somebody that likes to get feedback and
know what is going on all the time. What is involved is emailing a
survey to new users to ensure they are oriented, emailing a survey to
current users to ensure they are satisfied, and emailing a testimonial
request to renewing members, to get feedback on why the CFP is a great
group to belong to. All surveys and email details are provided, it is
a matter of sending them until a response is gotten, and then providing the
CFP with details and testimonials for use in the newsletter and
website. In addition, a request for a website link would also be contained
in the survey so that all members with a website list their affiliation
with the CFP.
