This month’s featured poet is:
Donelda Kent, CFP member and volunteer, lives in Halifax, NS and is the
co-chair of the Halifax Federation of Poets.
Donelda Kent is a Canadian based writer born in Sydney, Nova Scotia currently residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia with her daughter.
She established Kent Publications & Productions in 2002 with the intention of expanding into the non-profit sector which she has recently accomplanished with The Halifax Chapter of the Canadian Federation Of poets. She will continue producing and publishing her own works as well as those of other independent artists.
Donelda is dedicated to bringing the literacy and artistic talent together in hopes of allowing other artists to realize their dreams through networking and public performances.
Donelda has been involved in writing and music since the early age of four, writing her own lyrics at the age of seven.
Her career can accurately be described as diversified from working with The Alberta Cultural Office, promoting cultural and heritage developments to volunteering in the areas of literacy, adult learning for the disabled, career coaching and providing consulting to various developmental organizations relating to Literacy and the Arts. With an extensive educational background in Business, Accounting, and Creative Writing, Donelda continues to utilize her knowledge and heartfelt desire of the Arts to allow others to share her vision and bring creative ideas to life, opening avenues and paving a path to higher levels of creativity for everyone.
Donelda's memberships in Organizations include The Canadian Federation of Poets,
The Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia, The Oakville Arts Council,
Canadian League of Poets, The Ontario Poetry Society, as well as heading the
Halifax Chapter of the Canadian Federation of Poets as Co-Chair.
