Bunny Iskov

|
I.B. (Bunny) Iskov was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba
and moved to Toronto when she was five years old.
Bunny married her high school sweetheart, Larry
when she was 20 years old, and they have two
children. Their son Howie, now 31 years old,
suffers from Pervasive Developmental Disorder
and Schizophrenia. Their daughter Rachel, now
27 years old, is completing her doctorate in
Modern European History in the United States.
Howie is an inspiration and the main reason for
Bunny's poetry.
Bunny's work was quickly accepted for
publication by thirteen branches of The Canadian
Mental Health Association as well as other mental
health related organizations. In addition to her
advocacy work for her son, Bunny went back to
school in 1989 and studied English and Creative
Writing at York University. She became the Poetry
Editor for The Outreach Connection Newspaper,
in 1994.
Bunny's poems have been published in a wide
variety of newsletters, literary journals, newspapers,
and anthologies nation wide. In October, 1999,
Bunny founded The Ontario Poetry Society - (TOPS)
Ontario's only Provincial, Democratic, Grass Roots,
Poetry Friendly Organization.
