$35!
1. For those impossible to buy for friends and family - those people that have everything
and another knick-knack or joke gift just won't cut it anymore - then give the gift that
lasts a full year.
A subscription
to Poetry Canada magazine
Starting at just $20 in Canada, this can be an easy and enlightening way to get your gift giving
done, and spread the joy and necessity of poetry. They can receive the December/January/February
issue under the tree, and then get a full year starting in March! Our gift to you,
for your gift to them. Order Today!
2. Got a closet poet in your life? Then get them active and involved with a
Canadian Federation of Poets membership.
Starting at just $35, this gift will be life-changing, and add to the betterment of society
and the arts. The more poets we get proudly out there - even if they are moonlighting
as an accountant or executive, the faster the word will spread that poetry is life!

where we have a fantastic array of books and stocking stuffers to help you achieve your goals
in life. Promotion of poetry, and help of another poet. Instant karma, starting at

and more expressive than socks.

MEMBER FEEDBACK
Karen Calaiezzi - Since just recently joining the CFP, I have been quite
impressed with Tracy's friendly, positive and encouraging personality. Not only,
is she very talented in the arts, but she is also very good at running the CFP.
She is always quick to respond to all my questions and never hestitates to help me out,
especially with my limited computer skills. She was able to get my bio on the website
within a few days and is helping to promote my chapbook. Thank you Tracy.
I wish you continued success in all that you do.
Read more AND submit yours!
NEW BOOKS LISTED
Be sure to check out in the CFPShop
section these new books from members. They make great gifts!

As I was writing this, I realized I needed to do a severe
mental shift in what happens to me in November. I start to hibernate.
It gets cold, and dreary, and I stock my cupboards and dread the first
snowfall. What ever happened to my childlike enthusiasm to the winter
months? What good ever came out of November? It was the start of the
decline in cold days, long nights and Christmas chaos. How utterly
depressing. So no more! For anyone who thought like me, it is time
for us all to write until we get back to our love of everything that
is winter. For those who love winter, post your poetry in the forum - sell
us on the beauty and awe of winter. For those of you who live in summer like
conditions all year
round, the only thing I have for you is the sheer beauty of Autumn that
must be seen, and my envy (but that is another poem).
So fellow poets, remember to attend at least one poetry event
a month, write at least one new poem a month, and send a 'poem' letter to a friend as
a birthday greeting or just to say hi. Everywhere
you turn - THAT IS POETRY!
If you have any
ideas, questions, or want to start a local Federation in your area, let me know!
Send me an email.

CFP Feature Profile
Feature Poet of the Month
One of the most asked about features of being a Federation member, is the Feature
Poet. We promote one poet every month
and this honour attaches to their member bio listings
and then remains posted in the archives
list.
The answers to your top questions are;
1. How do I become a CFP Feature Poet of the Month
Step one is you must be a CFP member.
Step two is you must participate as a member whether that be as a Federation chair,
poetry judge, forum user, event attender - in general, you don't quietly write
at home and never communicate to others. You let people know you are there, you
show them your work, you talk about your affiliation with the CFP, and you
take an active part in letting everyone know you are a poet. This is what
membership is. Not paying a fee, and waiting until the next year to join again.
It is talking to other poets in a way that advances poetry as an art form.
Step three:
Once you have satisfied the above, send me an email and request consideration.
I will know if you have satisfied the above or not, because the poets who get
selected, I see, I hear from, they list their books in the CFPShop, I watch on the
forums, or they send me a member
testimonial because they are so thrilled with being a part of the CFP family.
2. Why is there a feature poet?
One of the primary focus issues of the CFP is promotion of poets and poetry. This
is an avenue we use to help you do that. It is a chance to be exposed to 50,000
visitors every month in a one-on-one way, and over 600 ezine subscribers, and growing daily. It is
a chance to let other like-minded people really get to know you, and this type
of activity is an integral part to you becoming more widely known in the industry.
Reputations are earned, and then promoted. We are here to help you do the latter.
Best of all, it is free!
