MEMBERS IN THE NEWS
Nikhil Parekh
Congratulations to Nikhil, who now has the official world record with the Limca Book
of World Records India, for having the most number of replies/letters from World Leaders and
World Organizations.
Limca Book of World Records India is ranked
second to the Guinness Book of Records, and Nikhil will be
featured in the 2006 edition of the book!
Check out the many accolades from
World Leaders and Organizations for his poetry on anti terrorism, world
peace, global environment and wildlife conservation, Tsunami, HIV/AIDS
and more.
Here is a great example of one CFP member taking the effort to make poetry prominent
on a global scale, and we are proud to have him as a part of our family.
You can check out Nikhil's website and read the many other things he has
done for his poetry, and for poetry.
If you are a CFP member and have been in the news, share your story with us, and our readers.
Anna Yin has just completed her new book Beyond My Knowing and will be
launching it on Sunday February 12th, at the CFP/TOPS Valentine's
Event. Check out the calendar for details. Everyone is welcome and

Okay, so have you all made your resolutions? If not, do it! It is beneficial
to have goals, targets, and plans. Without them, you have no idea where
you are going, or if you even got there. Yes we are poets, and writing is
inspired and happens when it happens. But with a bit of added 'goals' to the
process, you can have a plan for your poetry when it arrives. It can be
as simple as sharing it at an event or an online forum, or sending it to a
contest or magazine. Or it may be to 'lose weight', but whatever it is, share
it so you can be held somewhat accountable, and keep motivated.
The Canadian Federation of Poets
has set up a 'resolution' share area for you to post your goals, and
check in once and a while to share your progress; success stories, ask questions,
ask for help, anything. It is a place where you can build a community of
people who want to accomplish something this year, and would like someone
to do that with. Not that we don't all have friends, but sometimes it is easier
for a 'stranger' to know you are trying to lose weight, or get published. You
are surrounded here by people who are probably all trying to do the same thing.
Have fun everyone, and visit often.
