The next and last issue of Poetry Canada is coming

It has the interview with Priscila Uppal - Griffin
Poetry Short List finalist.
This will the last edition, and I will come up
with easier ways to get the word out through article distribution in the
newsletter, and teleseminar recordings of interviews you'll find
interesting.
It will contain the Priscila Uppal interview, Spirit Youth Award
Winners, Book Review, articles and poetry.
Back issues are available, once they're gone that's

Poet P.K. Page Passes
Canadian literary grande dame P.K. Page, long renowned for her poetry and
other writing, died at the age of 93 at her home in Victoria.
Patricia Kathleen Page has amassed numerous awards and honours for her work both
within Canada and abroad. In 1954, she received The Governor General’s Award in
Poetry, and The Lieut. Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence in 2004. In
2000, her poem, “Planet Earth,” was chosen by the United Nations for its reading
series, Dialogue Among Civilizations Through Poetry.
A companion of the Order of Canada, the British-born, Canadian-reared
Patricia Kathleen Page was considered among Canada's most esteemed writers.

Profile
Haiku:
Haiku, is a 17 syllable poem broken into 3 lines of 5,7 and 5 syllables
respectively.
Originating in Japan, Haiku means "beginning phrase". The rules for this type of
poetry are it must refer to something in nature, and represent a season. It is
written in the present tense.
Golfers Heaven
trimmed greens invite play
eagle putt circles and drops -
I dance with my club.
Summer Memories
soaked under clear skies
water shoots from the sprinkler -
dripping in butter.

Metal prongs - gather
Fallen hands from outright arms
