VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Each newsletter I will post a request for a volunteer for the many positions we need
to fill in order to grow and expand poetry in this next year. This is a great opportunity to help the
CFP, help yourself, gain a great skill for your CV/Bio, and in return I will offer
promotional freebies of your skills, your work, your events and/or your products.
See the volunteers
section for complete details. I will be listing them in terms of smallest effort
and time required.
Membership Assistant:
Time required: 20 minutes per month
This involves contacting expired members and
reminding them it is time to renew. Usually no more than 10 calls are required
per month. Great for people that like the phone, and enjoy
talking to others.
Usually doesn't take more than 20 minutes time on the phone in total for the whole
month.
Needs to be someone with a long distance phone plan as I don't want anyone to incur extra expenses on our behalf.
Contact Tracy Repchuk to apply or find out more!

Okay, so who turned the heat off? As many around me dripped through the heat waves
of summer, I was basking in the warmth of its cozy blanket. Now, I'm cold already.
I feel like fall is breathing down my shivering neck, ready to pounce its leaf-dropping
pleasure on me. I keep hearing about this global warming, but in my backyard, it
feels like summer is getting shorter every year!
I'd like to give thanks for the many people that volunteered to be Calendar Coordinator,
it was great to know so many would help. As a new season starts in September, this is
a good time to fill in the many more volunteers in different
categories that I need. So please check out the
positions that are available, some that even pay. Or, send me the skills you have,
and amount of time you have, and we can see where you can help. Every little bit makes a difference
in our success, your success, and the success of poetry on the planet.
Join the CFP and become a part of a vibrant and supportive group. Check out the benefits and join.
A free subscription to Poetry Canada magazine and over 20 other
benefits, to help you really get your money's worth.

FEATURE BOOK ANNOUNCE

Poetic Beauty By Joanne Joyce Green
|
Joanne Joyce Williams was born in Toronto, Ontario, where she lives with her husband
Donald. Like many of us, poetry came into her life early as a child of eight,
while she was sitting under the table while Mother sang. As a ripe young woman
of 90 years young, she was inspired to create POETIC BEAUTY which is a
story Joanne wrote in the hopes of giving teens the courage to stand up and say no
to abuse when dating. This story is about a
teen who finds herself in a bad situation, and must make choices and look
honestly at her feelings - and that she alone must find the courage to make them.
Paperback - 84 pages ISBN #08059-9109-3
